Facebook Messages Gets New Layout, Turning Into Email

There are a few of us who check Facebook messages more than we check our own email accounts. And these days, we'll just have to adjust to that sort of behavior. Now, the social media company has announced a new way to look for messages, and has updated their messages layout to sport a side by side layout and support for multiple inline images.

Facebook Messages, which hasn't really gotten much of an update in terms of layout looks sort of usable now thanks to its new two panel design. It's also similar to the one used by other web clients like AIM, and Apple's new default IM layout in Messages.

In addition, there are other things you can do as well, like embed multiple pictures in a single message and it has some new keyboard shortcuts too. Facebook is rolling this out now, and while you might not get the new layout right away, you'll definitely be seeing it soon.
