Established and successful Anchorage company (with office locations in 6 states) is looking for an experienced HR Coordinator to support and join their HR Manager in a small but very busy HR department.? This is not a manager or director role. This is a very busy ?hands on? role for a driven and resourceful HR specialist looking for a long term career. The right applicant for this position will have strong computer skills on MS Office and be very comfortable using Excel spreadsheets and Outlook for email as you will use these heavily daily.? The right candidate will embrace technology and use it heavily as the company will be implementing and going live on a new HRIS system this year.? ? Duties include: Coordinate HR actions such as status changes, hires, promotions, raises, terminations, and employee personal information changes such as addresses, name changes, marital or parental status changes, etc.?? Coordinate the generation of documentation for HR actions such as offers of employment, transfers, leave administration and promotion announcements.?? Oversee employee file and database maintenance.? Assist the HR Manager with communicating changes affecting payroll to the Payroll Specialist and back checking payroll change reports. Work with the Human Resources Assistant to coordinate mailings to employees and create and update HR forms.? Coordinate the production and distribution of the annual benefits summary, open enrollment packets, and insurance packets for newly eligible employees. Coordinate company?s participation in career fairs as directed by the HR Manager.? Create job requisitions in company?s online candidate management system.? Communicate company?s open positions by posting company?s job log to recruitment services via email, placing newspaper ads, and supplying appropriate language about openings to various web sites and professional association newsletters as directed by HR Manager. Coordinate applicant correspondence.? Schedule and participate in employment interviews, coordinate travel arrangements for out-of-town applicants, assist with reference checking, and initiate pre-employment background screens. Conduct new employee orientations and assist HR manager in responding to employee concerns related to benefits, paychecks (coordinate with Payroll), training and other employment concerns. Assist HR Manager in coordinating company?s training and professional development program to include scheduling training such as Brown Bag sessions, SmarTeam, HAZWOPER, CPR/First Aid, and various computer application and technical training; process applications and payment for registrations, memberships, and professional development classes; assist in the development of group training events.? Track training and professional development activities and monitor expenses, provide budget reporting to department managers. Coordinate company?s worker?s compensation program to include filing claims, responding to inquiries from the adjuster, the employee, and parent company corporation, and staying in contact with the employee after a claim is filed. Coordinate wellness program activities such as the annual health fair and periodic fitness challenges. Assist HR Manager in completing compliance reports such as EEO-1, VETS-100, Affirmative Action, and OSHA. Operate in a strict climate of confidentiality and exercise discretion in conducting day-to-day activities.

Certificates: PHR certification or ability to pass the exam, become certified within one year. Must have a valid driver?s license and good driving record. Preference given to current Alaska residents. MUST HAVE BACH DEGREE + 5yrs HR EXPERIENCE TO BE CONSIDERED!
