Garnet M. Huffman, 83, of Greencastle, passed away on Friday Feb. 8, 2013.
She was born on Aug. 4, 1929 in Fillmore to Ivan C. Proctor and Lucille R. Crosby Proctor.
Garnet was a 1947 graduate of Bainbridge High School, a member of Bainbridge Christian Church, had been a Cub Scout leader.
She had been employed at the Bainbridge school cafeteria and the National Spotted Swine Record office.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 60 years, Walter F. Huffman.
Surviving are her children, Larry Huffman and wife Michele of Greencastle and Donna Rust of Greencastle; two sisters, Madonna Elliott of Bainbridge and Linda Hartman of Bainbridge; four grandchildren, Matt Huffman of Greencastle, Jeremy Rust and fiance? Lindsey of Indianapolis, Jackson Rust and wife Ashley of Coatesville, and Krista Lewis and husband Eric of Brownsburg; and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb.12 at Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home, Greencastle, with Rev. Rusty Anderson officiating. Interment will follow at Bainbridge Cemetery.
The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Monday (tonight), Feb. 11 at the funeral home.
Memorials in Garnet's name may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
Garnet enjoyed square dancing with Walter in their early years, and they both enjoyed spending time with their family. Garnet also enjoyed collecting antiques and going to auctions.
